Barry Richardson

Barry is a Property Consultant based at TPG’s Napier office.

Barry assists local authorities in the central regions with the delivery of acquisition and disposal services with a strong focus on building and maintaining strong relations with clients such as Waka Kotahi and various District Councils.

Prior to joining TPG Barry accumulated 24 years of valuation experience in South Africa where he valued commercial, retail and industrial properties, rural land, vacant residential land, land for future development and feasibility studies for development purposes. Barry spent a further 2½ years gaining New Zealand valuation experience before changing career path.

Barry has also supported and managed owner developer’s and property individuals on various property deals in the role of Nation Manager Property Risk with Absa Bank in South Africa.

In 2007 Barry formed a valuation company which involved working, maintaining and developing strong working relationships with various industry professionals as well as external clients. He has also been involved in the training and development of graduate valuers and built strong relationships with internal stakeholders of varying levels.
