Reserve Land Review
Client: Palmerston North City Council
Local Government reserve portfolios cover a diverse range of land, purpose, facilities, and use. They provide key community facilities including playgrounds, sportsgrounds, swimming pools, libraries, community centres and cemeteries. They can also provide and protect land for recreation purposes, important values such as historical, scenic, nature and scientific and any local purposes such as esplanade reserves.
TPG recently completed a review for Palmerston North City Council of their diverse reserve portfolio. In this staged project, Council sought to ensure the land in their reserve portfolio was:
Owned by Council
Held for a reserve
Classified under the Reserves Act 1977.
Where land was held for a public work, or not appropriately classified, we assisted Council to:
Raise title
Set apart land for reserve purposes
Update ownership
Arrange survey.
