Graduate Development Programme FAQ's

If you have questions about our graduate programme please read our FAQs listed below.  If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

What is TPG looking for in a graduate?

Great question! As a specialist property consultancy we are incredibly proud to have a diverse team of passionate consultants. We want to hear from graduates of all backgrounds who are:

  • Graduating from a relevant degree, or if you graduated within the last 2 years

  • Genuinely interested in a career in property, and in consultancy

  • Passionate about TPG’s purpose and align with our values

  • Focussed on quality and take pride in their work (and their application).

When would I start work?

Our graduates all start in January 2025, so you can start with us feeling well-rested after a good break. We may be able to offer some flexibility to the start date, however our graduates really benefit from all starting together.

Where can I work?

TPG has 13 offices nationwide, from Whangārei down to Queenstown. Our priority is to place our graduates in offices where you will get the best support, and we try and give you your first preference if we can. To increase your chances of securing a place in our graduate programme, we recommend you are as flexible as possible and open to multiple locations. We also support our graduates to relocate to other offices down the line if it works for everyone.

How can I make my application stand out?

Great question! Remember to include a cover letter and your CV in the initial application stage. Your cover letter is an opportunity to tell us more about you, and why you’re keen to join TPG’s graduate programme.

We will provide you with more tips through the later stages of your application, to help you put your best self forward.

What do TPG graduates get paid?

We offer our graduates a competitive salary, and four remuneration reviews as part of the graduate programme. We also offer an enhanced incentive scheme (performance bonus) for those going above and beyond in their role.

Do graduates get any other benefits?

You bet! Some of our benefits include:

  • Fully subsided health insurance following one year of employment

  • $2,500 study assistance, and leave, for relevant and approved academic study

  • Access to confidential counselling through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • Regular social events, including our fully funded annual Forum (a 2-day all-inclusive event to help you build relationships with TPG team members nationwide.)
